PCOS is a medical condition that directly affects a woman’s hormones. PCOS has been linked to insulin resistance which can increase the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and cardiovascular disease. Up to 70% of women with PCOS go undiagnosed and often experience infertility. Some studies have shown women with PCOS have higher chances of developing breast and uterine cancers.
Some symptoms of PCOS include weight gain, an inability to lose weight, ovarian cysts, irregular menstrual cycles an increase in hair growth on the face and body, anxiety and depression.
